AMD Ryzen 7 3700U Mobile Processor with Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics

AMD Ryzen 7 3700U is a x86 64-bit mobile APU released in the first quarter of 2019 for thin, light mid-range laptops. The processor has a slightly improved Zen+ quad-core architecture which ensures an increased performance per clock compared to previous AMD processors and also makes it highly multitasking-friendly. The chip has a specified base clock of 2.3GHz with a maximum boost clock of up to 4.0GHz and a locked multiplier.

Furthermore, the chip’s design is based on a 12nm processing technology which approximately consumes 30% less power compared to the previous 14nm design; and is also fast and efficient at similar power ranges (configurable TDP of 12-35W and 15W as default TDP). AMD has further ensured that the Ryzen 7 3700U operates at a steady temperature (with a maximum operating temperature of 105oC) to prevent overheating and reduce power consumption in the process.

The processor has a total of 4.5 billion transistors in its design and is coupled with an AMD SenseMI technology alongside other supported technologies. With AMD SenseMI Technology, Ryzen 7 3700U is equipped with technologies that enable fast operation on various platforms including notebooks, desktops, and servers. It features a built-in neural network that increases performance based on need with user behavior being an important determining factor for this process. The chip also features autonomous self-learning capabilities that are capable of enhancing applications based on past experiences with no extra programming designed for this purpose.

The Ryzen 7 3700U also comes equipped with a 4MB level 3 cache, a dual-channel DDR4 memory controller that supports fast and stable operation at 2400MHz, and an integrated PCIe version 3.0 bus interface. Alongside the APU, AMD has released their new AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics chip to offer higher performance in games and applications which support multiple GPUs. With an integrated Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics, the processor is capable of handling demanding productivity workloads like video encoding and compiling easily. This integrated graphics processor is also capable of supporting 4K resolutions at 60Hz with a maximum of four displays.
