There is a choice of sounds that you can use for your alarms and you can also select a Snooze time ranging from 5 minutes to an hour. You can disable the snooze feature if you want. A switch in the top right corner of the alarm enables you to turn it on or off. 

Using the timer and stopwatch features is just as easy. For the timers, there are preset options for 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes. You can add your own timer if you want. It is just a matter of clicking on the Play style button to use the stopwatch.

Option 2: Run a Task on Task Scheduler

It is also possible to create an alarm in Windows 10 by using the Task Scheduler. You can access Task Scheduler by clicking the Windows key and then scrolling down to find it on the menu. As an alternative, you can just type, task scheduler into the search field. 

When you have opened the Task Scheduler application, you need to create a basic task. Look for the Action tab and click on this and select Create basic task from the drop-down menu. Give your task a name and add a description if you want. 

In the next screen, you need to choose how often you want the task to occur. The options here are:

  • Every day
  • Every week
  • Every month
  • Just one time
  • When your laptop starts
  • When you log in
  • When an event happens

So if you want your Windows 10 laptop to wake you up at the same time each day, you can select the daily option. Then you need to set the date and time for the task. In the next screen you have the option to:

  • Start a program
  • Send an email
  • Display a message

You could choose a program like the VLC Media Player to play a specific piece of music, for example. It is required that you add the path to your program and then add arguments that would be the path to the music you want the VLC Media Player to play. Click on Finish and your alarm is set.

There are applications that you can download to set alarms on your Windows 10 laptop. You can get Alarm Clock HD from the Microsoft Store for free and it has some nice features. How to set an Alarm on a Mac with the Apple Calendar

If you own a Mac laptop, you can use the Mac or Apple Calendar to set alarms. It is very easy to do and there are different options that you can choose from. You should see the Calendar app at the bottom of your laptop screen. Click on this to launch the app. Alternatively, you can launch the app by clicking on Go and then Applications.

Now you need to choose the day you want to set the alarm. Give your alarm a name and then you can choose the time that you want. There is an option here to repeat the alarm if you wish. With the created alert, you now want to choose the Custom option from the menu. Then click on minutes before and choose message with sound.
